~*~*~*~*~ Orchard Buffet with family ~*~*~*~*~
Mother's Day dinner @ Orchard Hotel =)

Used to frequent there in the past.. but now it's abit expensive lah, and also found other places to hang out for our saturday dinners. Abit sad cos the menu has moved to cater to the European platter. Emphasis on variety has also compromised quality to a certain extent. But nonetheless, it's still GOOD. Today's spread was Seafood International! =)


Table mats have a picture of Singapore on it!! it's so tourist-sy.. but still, it's cool.. and i liked it! =) quite cute the way they thought of promoting themselves- they placed Orchard Hotel amongst the Singapore local attractions! Note that there's not Orchard Road.. cos theres' Orchard Hotel! =p lolz.. And it's sooo apporperiate. cos it's meal time... crudos to the person who came up with it!


They had a waiter specially to pry open the oysters on request!! so it's super super fresh!!! it's realli the BEST oysters i've ever eaten.. the flesh is sooo firm.. delicious!! and no, it's not THAT fresh that it's moving.. (my brother was teasing me when i was eating... i ate only 2 lorz.. cos tummy not well these days... =S)


Buffet comes with a serving of King Crab!! Option of pepper King Crab or Garlic and Scalions. Under the recommendation of the waiter, we tried the latter.. and it was absolutely.. yumz. The King Crab's legs are sooo fleshy!!! i loved loved loved the chunks of meat literally juz drenched with the delicious oriental sauce.. One bite into it and the juicy chunks juz ooze out crab-rich flavour to fill your mouth. Oooh yum yum. hahaha wad a treat!! =p


This picture is of 2 GIANT prawns which they have simply barbequed. Eh, well, actually, this pic was taken specially for someone who LOVES prawns. =p Jealous? lolz.. Anywayz, one was quite well done, the other wasn't- disappointing.. Meat was on the mushy side, and taste was bland... But the one that was well done was absolutely great. The flesh was firm with bounce as you munched on it, and there was a hint of the taste of the sea... No seasoning needed for such quality.. Seriously, when you want to express confidence in your quality of ingrediants, do CHECK your ingrediants first... cos when well executed, it makes such a great statement. But if not, it's juz falls flat. Luckily that i got a good piece.. =)
