parkway parade's Sony shop has LOUSY service.. i'd reckon they'll close. that spot may haf bad feng shui...

i was dressed in casual blue jeans and bright pink fila tee...

walked in, looked at the displays of earphones, hands full of bags from shopping.. i look around for help.

one guy serving a male customer saw me, but did not make any move to tell me to wait a moment, nor did he smile.. *he was juz standing next to the cus, btw.. not doing anything- in my opinion..

This other guy walks past, i look at him, he saw me, but he carried on.. to the counter to talk to his collegues! i glared at him.. then he came to me, exchanging glances with the first guy i saw... "Sorry" he says.. (sorry for your bad service.. wowz. is that supposed to be good service?) "it's ok." i then told him abt my bad exps with sony, asking if they had a warrenty, or perhaps, these staff, since it's a SONY SHOP afterall, will be able to either feedback, or to show confidence in their stuff... but no, he tells me that there is no warranty, and that, jokingly, there is a 3 day return policy. cos there are cus who receive earphones who don't work right out of the package...

in another shop, i would haf left. but Sony is the top brand in electronics, thou not the best in earphones, but good sound quality.,, and i'm using a Sony discman.. it is ridiculous to be using, e.g a panasonic earphone for a Sony discman? yar.. it juz is.

So, i fished out my Visa Mini Debit (since i'm not allowed to get a credit card yet... under age limit...) and proceeded to go pay for the item.. the guy retrieved the item, then went to the counter.. the male cus whom the first guy was attending to was paying.. "Sorry, wait awhile..", i smiled, "it's ok."

What happened next was extremely interesting.. IF taken in the right manner, i suppose... the guy who served me went to another collegue and talked to him, then that collegue opened another counter.. the guy directed me to the counter, and i passed them my card. they exchanged looks.. i stared. the cashier, as i will now call him since he opened the counter, proceeded to process my transaction. Transaction approved. wowz, amazing feat! - the cashier took a look at the moniter which has the words "transaction approved", even thou the receipt from Visa is alreadi being printed out.. he then tilts the moniter, such that the guy-who-served-me standing next to him can see the wrods "transaction approved". wad comarade! shared joy on profits gained!

the cashier then passes me the receipt to sign.. i sign, with their ink-blotted pen... the cashier takes a careful look at the card's signature, and the signature of the receipt. (anger is brewing somewhere...) i keep my eyes on him. he notices... smiles, passes my receipts to me. we exchanged thankyous, and i went out of the store... to Giant, the supermarket nest door....

I admit, this ain't the first time a cashier takes a close look at my signature. i'm supposd to be glad, i guess, that they take care in comparing signatures.. but, it is infurating. I take pride in my savings, and when i spend my savings, i expect it to be satisfying at least, if not gratifying. As i browsed thru the shelves of cutlery in Giant, i was half-expecting the police to tap my shoulder and request that i produce proof that the debit card is mine, tipped off my the Sony Shop Guys... that would haf been nice too... i will definitely report to the press, and let's all hear the bad, discrimining service of the Sony Shop Guys..... won't that be nice?
