Thai Sharksfin Seafood Restuarant @ Kallang

Hands-down the BEST curry i've tasted!!! *see the prawn curry below..

Near the restuarant are the 2 stone lions guarding a bridge... those 2 lions used to guard the bridge at Nicole Highway loooong looong ago, but they were placed in the middle of the bridge and caused many accidents.. so they were shifted here =) -says my dad..

Crab tang-hoon!! dig up the cloves of garlic at the bottom to squish out the lovely caramelled garlic!! the tang-hoon is a tad too salty to be eaten alone thou.. but the flavour of crab juz penatrates throughout this dish... Yummy...

Fried fish slices with spring onion! Absolutely delicious... Slightly crisp on the outside, the thick slices of fish has none of fishy taste, juz soft flesh.. fried with spring onion and cooking wine gives a mouth-watering fragrance...

THE BEST CURRY!!! Thai Prawn Curry.. Luxurious comfort food- this is... thai curry which is mild on first taste and alittle spice afterwards.. great with a bowl of fragrant rice!! The prawns were huge and fresh! But the gravy is pure pure heaven!! Curdled with eggs, it's similiar to the one that ThaiExpress serves in small amounts with their soft-shell crab dish... but this is none of that aggressiveness (chilli) and much much more soothing.. warning: you'll crave for it afew days later!! haha. Posted by Picasa

Winter Solstice
Tang Yuan!! love the pink peanut ones!!
Mom's receipe is simple with a ginger-milk broth with pandan leaves to add flavour!

Cool breeze and a warm bowl of tang yuan.... life's simple pleasures!!

TOAST BOX

Went out with candice and JJ yesterday.. Took an afternoon break to rest tired feet at Toast Box at Food Republic at Wisma.. my first time at Toast Box cos normally they're so crowded i don't bother to wait in queue... but this time, paitent JJ queued for us =)

Now i understand why it's worth queuing for!!!

Chocolate, peanut, kaya and iced milk tea!!
The kaya is normal kaya and butter.. but the chocolate and peanut butter french toasts are absolutely must-tries!!

Lots of ice, not enough tea to wash down the delicious toasts!! =S

Peanut butter on a thick, soft, warm piece of toast! Sink your teeth into lovely peanut heaven... hmm... i like the peanut one more than the chocolate one...

Chocolate on toast should be sin!! Definitely suits a chocolate craving and satisfy a sweet tooth!! would love if they have melted dark chocolate instead of the chocolate syrup.. but actually, it's already really good as it is... the kids on the next table definitely loved it! they were onto it before mom could put the tray on the table! haha...Posted by Picasa

-exams-
the chrysanthemum tea

Posted by Picasa
This gets me thru the exams.. i drink this, or long jin tea (dragon well tea) both bought by mum from china.. cos if i dun drink tea, i'll slp... ... and lipton tea's abit boring...

Anywayz, for those interested in chrysanthemum tea:
dried chrysanthemum flowers + rocks of sugar + wolfberries + hot water (not boiling hot, but not warm, abt the usual 70degrees C used to make chi tea). Stir and leave for flavours to infuse and the sugar to dissolve... do eat the flowers.. they're edible, and supposedly good for you.. They're also oh-so-pretty... =)

Will post the other food experiences after the exams another time.. =)
Sorry for the loong overdue posts....

Dou Jiang Da Wang (King of Soy Milk)

Posted by Picasa
One of the Must-trys along Geylang, bet many of you know abt it.
Went there for breakfast one early monday morning when dad fetched me to sch and my bro to his army camp. Monday morning, so the place was pretty empty... Sorta peaceful compared to the busy road juz outside... The attendant was helpful too!! We had their signature soy milk with you tiao (which are abit too oily for me, but at least they're crispy! and DO dip/ soak them in your warm bowl of soy milk)

Bro tried their mee sua, which was abit expensive and salty.. and dad ordered this egg and pork floss sandwich, which we couldn't finish.. haha.. i packed it to school for my lunch.. and downed it with hot milo.. it was delicious! The egg gives it volume, and they weren't stingy with their pork floss!! the toasted bun had seseme seeds scattered on it, adding fragance.... A great way to start a busy week at school!! =)

Sake Sushi Delivery!!!

This sem, i'm lucky to have 2 very happening project groups!! My previous posts has mentioned 2 outings with my AA202 project group, now it's my AA201 project group! it's 4 gals!! girl power!! hurhur... We went to sing kbox in the middle of the night as a last outing before the exams too... All of us love to sing... and CSSS rocks the house!!

Anywayz, we were basically rushing for our report dateline.. which was the next day.. thus all four of us were in the computer lab till 10+pm... the whole computer lab to ourselves.. =) We were there till we were chased out... =p
Juz happens tt i was feeling down that day due to problems with another project... candice juz knows how to cheer me up! She suggested we go outa sch to eat!! but later on, cos it became evident tt we're in danger of not meeting the dateline, we had to order in..
The Sushi Set which we ordered to share... beautifully packed ain't it? lolz.. we had a hard time to open it lorz... cos the ribbon was tied so tightly... haha.. but hunger conquers all barriers.. we got it open in the end... =p
My teammates!! Sheryl, Sijia and Candice!! Checking out the delivery's other components... Look at Candice's happy grin! haha.. cos she ordered her fav ebi sushi! and Sijia, the organized one, opening each bag... Sheryl's her helper.....
We ate sushi among the computers... heh. All for 4 of us!! waa... so full!!

Yannie's Breakfast Delivery!!
This is another loong overdue post...

It's juz one of those days juz before exam period, one of those lessons which begin at 830am which i have to go, but often can't drag my ass outta bed to get to the lessons...

The night before, yannie went out for movie.. and that morning, she returned to hall early with breakfast to share!! Delivered right to my door step! So nice to have warm, soft bread early in the morning!! =) But as i overslpt (as usual), i didn't get to enjoy them right away... i brought them to class.. But not before taking these pics! heh, couldn't resist taking these pics.. as testament to thank yannie!! they're small and cute!! miniature ham and tuna buns! Here they are, seated on the new scarf which i've bought. =)

Shark's head!!
This is the famous shark's head delicacy only found in MacPerphson FoodMarket... the food market is a fav food haunt for me and dad when he fetches me home from school.. i've seen it recommended on tv before, so i was bugging dad to try it lah.. one small piece costs a hefty $30!! and it has less meat then a fish of similiar size.. infact, it has very little edible parts.. mostly soft cartilage.. if you like the soft, silky texture, buy salmon, boil it and the layer of omega-rich fat juz below the skin is much tastier and healthier... so, this dish ain't worth it at all... don't try okie? waste of $$... If you're at the place anywayz, try the desert stall! i looove the mango-milk ice.. and there's a porridge stall by an old couple.. .. the old lady takes great pride in her porridge! that dish's a must-try!!
