Friday, March 16, 2007 ~~* Ichiban at IMM!! *~~ Went out with kj finally!! lolz, have been realli realli busy, but finally both of us manage to put aside some time amongst all the quizzes and work to get together. After wandering around JP window shopping, we were both hungry!! but still, we manage to hold it, take a shuttle down to IMM and explore the new wing of IMM before deciding to settle at Ichiban!! and wad a wonderful choice!! i'm truly delighted at the quality here!! above is the salmon tataki which is seared cook on the outside, but still raw in the middle. Amazingly refreshing with the shreded radish on the side and absolutely delicious, esp if you have sake! (which we didn't, cos we had canned wine!!) haha...We shared this course!! The chawamushi is absolute heaven.. silky smooth and light it juz slithers down your throat with such a slight touch of luxury.... This was a surprising dish for me.. raw sashimi on rice with a drizzle of chilli seseme oil... it's lovely as long as you can take the heat of the chillipadi bits!! for me, it was perfection!! the drizzle was complementary to the sharp heat of the chilli and the soft touch of the rice. Currently, one of my fav jap dishes for sure!! Jap curry has always been a treat!! Sweet instead of tough spice, it's mellow subtle taste is essented by the thick soba... much as i appreciated it, it paled in comparison to others on the platter.. but still, it's well-done and worth the cash!!! |
We oughta try
cooking it sometime, too.
